Still working, still praying

What are you still working for?  What are you still praying for?

I wrote this on September 11, 2001. Still encouraging vitality in each of us and all of us. Still praying that this moment will make us stronger, wiser, and more compassionate. Still watching the news with a broken heart…

God is so sad today.

God also needs our words of comfort and assurance
That we will not let violence and fear be the legacy of humanity.

At times like this God needs to know
That we will actively share our love
And work to create havens of kindness and compassion
Until the joy of creation
Transforms the weight of human suffering.
